Candidates Allison Blackwell and Luke Shaffer, running in Encinitas City Council District 1 in this November's general election, are scheduled to take part in a Candidate Forum via Zoom on October 1, 2024 at 6:00PM.
Moderated by the League of Women Voters of North County San Diego (LWVNCSD), these candidate forums are strictly non-partisan and structured with trained facilitators to provide a fair and impartial platform for the public to hear directly from candidates about their qualifications, priorities, and plans. Candidates will have equal time for opening and closing statements and to respond to questions submitted in writing by the audience.
The deadline for submitting questions in advance of the forum was 9/29/24 at 5pm.
Questions can also be submitted through the ZOOM Q & A feature during the forum and will be included as time permits.
The public is invited to take this opportunity to hear from the candidates and learn where they stand on issues of importance. The forum will be recorded and posted in its entirety to the LWVNCSD YouTube channel shortly after the event for those unable to attend in person. To ensure fairness to all participants, no other video recording is permitted except by members of licensed media organizations.
