Subject: Protecting Our Democracy: Important League Update
From: Marian Vega Clancy

February 15, 2025

Dear ~~first_name~~,

Yesterday, on the League’s 105th birthday, the League of Women Voters of the United States sent a powerful letter to our Congressional leaders, urging them to rise and protect the rule of law and defend the Constitution against the unprecedented executive branch overreach. Our democracy is under attack, and it's crucial for all of us to remain resilient, vigilant and active. The letter is signed by the presidents of all 50 state Leagues and DC as well as our President and CEO. It is detailed and impactful.

We, as part of this dedicated community, are committed to:
  • Advocacy and Education: Continuing to educate our members and the public about their rights and the importance of civic engagement.
  • Voter Registration and Protection: Ensuring every eligible voter can register, vote, and have their vote counted.
  • Defending the Constitution: Urging our elected representatives to honor their oaths and take necessary actions to uphold the Constitution.
Thank you for your unwavering dedication and support. Together, we will continue to work stronger than ever to safeguard our democracy and protect the rights of all citizens.

Let’s celebrate our strength and resolve at our own birthday celebration this coming Saturday, February 22. I hope to see you there!

In solidarity,

Marian Vega Clancy, President
