Good afternoon, new and experienced League members,

In March and April we will work on two of the most important activities of League of Women Voters;

participating in a National Study and completing our Local League Program planning.

Thinking Globally

LWVUS is developing a position on the Federal Judiciary. To do this Local Leagues are asked to study the Federal Judiciary, discuss the principles of judicial independence, transparency, accountability, ethics, public perceptions, ... And come to a consensus.

LWVNCSD is joining LWVSD for the discussion phase and then coming to a consensus as LWVNCSD. This sounds like heavy stuff and it is! BUT on our website there is lots of information to read and think about before the Zoom discussion on March 24, 2025 at 5:30pm More information is on our website.

Please join us on March 24th for an interesting discussion and then again on March 31 for a consensus meeting.

Federal Judiciary Study Consensus Meeting

Acting Locally

In 2023 LWVNCSD decided on our Priority Issues. Now two years later, we may decide on other Priorities. Now is a good time for you to look at the Issues, Studies, and Positions page on our website.

On Saturday April 5, 2025 we will meet at the Pine Ave Community Center, 3209 Harding St, Carlsbad, 92008 from 10:00am -12:00pm. Experienced members will take us through discussions to establish our Priorities for 2025-2027. Be prepared for a lively and informed discussion!!
