I’m sharing our February issue of The Voter at a moment when our democracy is under extraordinary strain. The League of Women Voters stands with Common Cause, LULAC, and the NAACP in condemning the recent ICE violence against immigrants and U.S. citizens alike, and we continue to raise the alarm about our nation's current constitutional crisis.
As LWV CEO Celina Stewart reminds us, "This is a moment that calls for coalition, and very bold action. The League is trying to meet this moment by standing with our partners, our members, but most importantly our neighbors, and by using every tool we have to defend the Constitution and the people it is meant to serve." Now more than ever, we must raise our voices and make the "we the people" impossible to ignore. This is a moment for visible, collective action — speaking out, protesting, calling our representatives, and standing firmly for human dignity and democratic principles.
