The LWVNCSD board is considering taking a position on the Oceanside City Sales Tax and is performing diligence this week to see if they should expedite their decision. We will meet via Zoom on Friday (see Zoom link below) with a City of Oceanside representative and invite League members to attend.
If you have any notes for the board related to the Sales Tax please email me and Rachel Heussenstamm (natural.resources@lwvncsd.org) by 5pm tomorrow, Thursday, August 6.
Notes could include:
- Questions about the tax that the Board should ask the city
- Specific topics about the tax that you are:
- in support of
- opposed to
- or you believe are too unclear for the public to vote on at this time
- Any notes on how the city has communicated this tax to the community
To keep an orderly and efficient meeting, I ask that you send your questions and concerns to Rachel or to me. During the meeting, if you wish to pose a question, I ask that you use the Chat window and allow us to consolidate or combine questions when practical to ensure we make efficient use of the time we are allowed.
I look forward to seeing you at this important meeting that will give our Oceanside League members information "straight from the source" to help you decide how to vote, and to help our Board decide whether it is appropriate to take a position at this time. We will all have new information from the City of Oceanside regarding an important issue affecting our community.
