LWV Urges City Council to Reject Homelessness Encampments Ban

The LWV believes that criminalizing, penalizing or harassing those who are homeless through encampment bans, like the one the City Council is considering, have neither been proven effective nor humane at addressing homelessness. We urge the Council to instead focus on meeting the need for safe shelter for those who are homeless, and look to other proven methods for successfully tackling this issue.
