League Opposes County Pursuit of Ordinance to Prohibit and Abate Encampments

We oppose the adoption of policies, practices, regulations and laws that criminalize, penalize or permit the harassment of unsheltered persons for engaging in necessary life activities in public spaces. We urge the Board of Supervisors to reject this proposal and prioritize the County's own Homelessness Solutions Action Plan, finalized on October 15, 2023, prior to creating an ordinance.
